The Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is one of our most popular social care qualifications.

The course is an occupational qualification, which is suitable for learners working in a wide range of roles in a health and social care setting and can be used towards advancing to higher level nursing courses in universities and as a probable entry route to NMC UK registration.

This programme provides a framework to equip learners with contemporary knowledge and practical skills while assessing their development of competencies required for successful health and social care work. On successful completion,  the learning outcomes have been designed to support relevant roles as health and social professionals in different workplaces. The resulting credential provides a pathway to higher-level qualifications.

The course is particularly suitable for learners who desire to be or currently working as carers, senior care assistants and support workers in residential settings (hospices) as well as domiciliary or day services established to meet variety of care needs.

The content of this level 3 diploma is regularly updated to reflect the latest Acts of Parliament, government guidelines and established Codes of Practice for the Health and Social Care profession.

Required Knowledge

Ideally, no prior work experience or skills in the relevant subject areas are required to enrol on this course, making it ideal for those who are just starting out in their care career but it is advised that applicants have English Language proficiency at the graduate (bachelor’s degree) or national diploma level from a recognized institution.

Assessment

This course is assessed using series of weekly assignments based on assigned readings and video presentations developed to test students’ knowledge of the course materials. Students will access their learning materials and submit their practical discussions online using our interactive learning management system.

On a weekly basis, our expert tutors will review assignments submitted in the form of activity-based personal discussions and provide learners with both individual feedback and group discussions delivered as tutor-led corrections and professional guidance throughout the programme.

By the end of the course, students will need to complete a compulsory but supervised clinical experience and mentorship arrangement of at least 150 hours as part of the requirements for the satisfactory completion of the course. The ISM London currently has in place, structured partnership arrangements with notable hospitals and private clinics for the supervised clinical experience and mentorship aspect of the course.
